Abstract

za di piu' colonialismi, in effetti, illustra la complessith e le contraddizioni inerenti a rappresentazioni, che sembrano trasmettere all'attualita i travagli delle epoche passate. Fra le parole chiave ricorrenti nei vari testi, si rinvengono con una certa frequenza quelle di paradoxe e mimoire, che rendono conto rispettivamente del trasfigurarsi degli eventi in forme fra loro idiosincratiche, le quali provocano di conseguenza il ruotare delle prospettive a disposizione dello "scienziato" sociale, nonch6 lo strutturarsi di una politica della memoria fondata su narrazioni sospese fra ricostruzione storica e racconto mitico. Non a caso, forse, il lavoro introduttivo e Quand la mimoire rdsurgit di Jennifer Cole, che interpreta le proiezioni "indigene" nel Madagascar contemporaneo di alcuni eventi coloniali e post-coloniali filtrati dal "prisme selectif" della memoria, in virtAi del quale il ricordo, e l'oblio soprattutto, acquistano una simultaneita con le contingenze e le sollecitazioni del presente. Cole descrive come una piccola comunith di dominati rivive in maniera intermittente i fatti della Storia, secondo una dinamica che ricorda quella indicata da Frangoise Zonabend in un testo di alcuni anni fa, La mimoire longue: "Pourtant au village, on n'ignore pas l'Histoire, mais on n'y a recours que si la necessit6 s'en fait sentir".
