Abstract

Narrativas visuales en cinco plazas de mercado de Ibagué, Tolima es una obra que aborda con sensibilidad y rigor la riqueza formal, estética y cultural de las plazas de mercado como escenarios fundamentales de la vida urbana. A partir de un enfoque cualitativo y exploratorio, el libro analiza la interacción entre historias de vida, informalidad y arquitectura, entendiendo estos espacios como heterotopías donde se entretejen dinámicas socioeconómicas, tradición y contemporaneidad. Estructurada en cuatro capítulos, la obra articula una conceptualización general, la contextualización de cada plaza, el desarrollo de narrativas visuales y un análisis espacial de las morfologías de adaptación. Su metodología se despliega en dos momentos: una revisión documental exhaustiva que sitúa históricamente al lector y una inmersión en el territorio basada en la observación, la percepción visual y la fotografía. Este segundo momento permite capturar la cotidianidad sin intervenirla, revelando capas de significado que configuran la economía popular y el tejido social urbano.
