Acupuntura como método de tratamento complementar em casos de cinomose

Abstract

A cinomose canina é uma doença grave e altamente contagiosa que afeta cães e outras espécies animais. Causada por um vírus da família Paramyxoviridae, a doença pode afetar cães de todas as raças e idades, resultando em sintomas neurológicos, complicações oculares, respiratórias e gastrointestinais e alta taxa de mortalidade. No entanto, a acupuntura, que é uma terapia complementar baseada na medicina tradicional chinesa, pode ser benéfica no tratamento de sequelas neurológicas da cinomose. A acupuntura é empregada na veterinária para tratar uma variedade de doenças, e seus pontos são escolhidos com base na fisiologia e anatomia do animal. Com seus resultados positivos observados em outras doenças neurológicas, a acupuntura tem o potencial de ser uma terapia complementar eficaz no tratamento de complicações neurológicas da cinomose.
