Abstract

O estudo examinou o impacto da transição de periódicos de acesso restrito para acesso aberto com cobrança de Article Processing Charges (APCs) e suas implicações para os países do Sul e do Norte Global. Destacou-se a preocupação com as disparidades na produção científica e no acesso ao conhecimento entre países desenvolvidos e em desenvolvimento. A pesquisa adotou uma abordagem qualiquantitativa, combinando métodos de pesquisa documental e levantamento de dados. Embora as APCs não tenham reduzido a participação dos países do Sul, a produção científica global aumentou, com um crescimento significativo do Norte Global. Os resultados sugerem um desequilíbrio persistente nas relações científicas globais, demandando uma análise mais abrangente e aprofundada para compreender plenamente as nuances do acesso aberto.
