Abstract

Las matemáticas al ser una materia fundamental en el currículo escolar colombiano, se convierte en objeto de estudio debido al rechazo que generalmente se suele tener hacia la misma, este rechazo se manifiesta en desinterés o indiferencia desde los grados de primaria hasta los grados de básica secundaria y media técnica, donde se ve intensificado este fenómeno. Por esta razón, es importante investigar la relación entre el dominio afectivo y el rendimiento académico en la transición de primaria a secundaria. Esta investigación es de naturaleza cuantitativa, de carácter correlacional – descriptiva. La muestra está constituida por 176 estudiantes de grados cuarto a séptimo, seleccionados a través de un muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia. Como instrumento de medida se tomó y adaptó el cuestionario de Gil, Guerrero y Blanco que consta de actitudes, creencias y emociones hacia las matemáticas. Derivado del procesamiento de los datos se puede afirmar que más de la mitad de los encuestados tienen emociones y creencias positivas hacia las matemáticas. Sin embargo, se observó que esta percepción positiva va decayendo a medida que avanzan de grado los estudiantes.
