Abstract

No dia 08 de abril de 2013, fui recebido no Instituto Fernando Henrique Cardoso, em São Paulo, pelo ex-presidente da República para uma conversa em que o foco principal girou em torno de sua obra como cientista social, sua relação com o marxismo e a concepção de política daí decorrente — temas da minha pesquisa no doutorado em Ciência Política pelo IESP/UERJ. Autor, como sociólogo e cientista político, de inúmeros livros e artigos que se estendem pelas últimas cinco décadas e constituem relevante ponto de reflexão Entrevista da história recente do Brasil e da América Latina, Fernando Henrique Cardoso foi, como se sabe, presidente do Brasil entre 1995 e 2002 e é um dos líderes do Partido da Social Democracia Brasileira (PSDB) — e se essa proeminente carreira política não chega a ser diretamente mencionada no diálogo transcrito abaixo, é evidente que ela sobredetermina muitas das questões levantadas.
