At each election, voters are called upon to exercise their right to vote, having the role of choosing the government official who best represents their interests. The objective of this study is to determine voting decisions in the municipal elections in Uruçuca from 2008 to 2020. Thus, the secondary database of the Superior Electoral Court on the profile of candidates for councilors and the use of the variables gender and race of the candidates were used, seeking to identify patterns and changes in electoral behavior in the municipal elections. Despite the low female representation, with only 11 women elected in the four elections observed, the data suggest that this difference is not directly related to the influence of gender on voting choices, but to other factors, such as the party structure or the small number of female candidates, reflecting the choices that are predominantly for male candidates.
