Abstract

Actualmente, la política educativa chilena ha dado relevancia al trabajo colaborativo del profesorado, pues el trabajar junto a otros permite el Desarrollo Profesional Docente y la profesionalización de su trabajo. La siguiente aportación tiene por objetivo describir las principales limitaciones para promover el trabajo colaborativo desde la óptica de directores de escuelas públicas chilenas. Para ello se realizó un estudio cualitativo con la aplicación de 15 entrevistas semiestructuradas a directores de las dos regiones más populosas del país. A partir de los resultados, se observa que las principales limitaciones para la implementación del trabajo colaborativo estarían dadas por la cultura docente marcada por el individualismo, la competitividad y las responsabilidades profesionales, características opuestas a lo que implica el trabajo colaborativo para el Desarrollo Profesional Docente, pero que res­ponden a un modelo de accountability de mercado imperante en la educación pública chilena.
