Abstract

A formação e o desenvolvimento profissional dos professores e a qualidade da aprendizagem dos alunos são campos intrinsecamente relacionados. O tornar-se professor (o aprender a ensinar – profissionalização docente); a construção da identidade profissional; o crescimento e o desenvolvimento docente são campos influenciados diretamente pela escola, pelas reformas e os contextos social-políticos existentes. Este dossiê discute as diferentes feições que a formação e o desenvolvimento profissional docente podem apresentar, de modo a dar conta de formar profissionais capazes de constantemente construir novas práticas e novos saberes profissionais. Com este dossiê, busca-se compilar pesquisas que realçam as controvérsias, destacam os pontos críticos, os desafios, mas também elaboram outras perspectivas que permeiam o campo da formação e do desenvolvimento profissional docente. Assim, esperamos contribuir para a reflexão e a defesa de políticas, teorias, práticas, reflexões epistemológicas e sociais de formação de professores, capazes de articular os tempos, os espaços e as condições necessárias de formação e de trabalho dos professores.
