Digestión anaerobia de efluentes de fosas sépticas

Abstract

En el presente trabajo se utilizo la digestion anaerobia por medio de un reactor UASB para el tratamiento de los efluentes de fosas septicas de aguas residuales domesticas. Se diseno el reactor con base en un tiempo de retencion hidraulico (TRH) de 24 h y un volumen total de reactor de 24 L. Como una modificacion al reactor UASB, se coloco un filtro de gravilla en la parte superior, antes de la salida del efluente. Se modifico la metodologia de arranque, inoculando el reactor con un exceso de biomasa, en este caso, liquido ruminal y re-circulando desde la parte media del reactor hasta la parte baja de este a un caudal de 4 L/h. Despues de 19 dias de iniciar la inoculacion, empezo la produccion de biogas. El reactor se alimento de manera continua durante 71 dias, a partir del dia 21 con un TRH de 36 h hasta el dia 53 y despues con un TRH de 24 h hasta el dia 92. Las eficiencias durante los primeros dias de la alimentacion continua fueron negativas, esto debido a la estrategia de arranque con exceso de inoculo. El sistema permanecio oscilante hasta el dia 72, cuando se estimo que se habia alcanzado la estabilidad en terminos de la eficiencia de remocion de DQO total y soluble. Se obtuvieron remociones de DQO total de 56% y de DQO soluble de 72%, alcanzando concentraciones promedio en el efluente de 166 mg/L de DQO total y 62 mg/L de DQO soluble.
