In the section on the abstract, we repeat the length requiremerit and expand briefly on the preferred content. Our goal is that each AJR abstract gives the reader a summary of the content and conclusions of the article. The use of a second paragraph in the abstract to explain the conclusions is a relatively recent innovation designed to provide the reader with a helpful quick reference. We ask that no abbreviations or acronyms be used because we expect that some readers of the abstract will not be experts in the area of study and we think that they should be able to understand the abstract without having to search through the article for the meaning
