A CORE-PERIPHERY MODEL WITH A KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER MECHANISM

Abstract

我国における若年労働人口の減少を補うために,労働者間の知識・技術の伝達とその高度化の必要性が指摘されている.労働者間の学習効果と,それにより達成される知識・技術の伝達は,労働者の空間的配分パターンに大きく依存する.本稿では,労働者間の学習メカニズムを考慮した都市経済システムモデル(Core-Periphery model )を構築し,若年労働人口の減少が都市システムの人口配分パターンに与える影響を理論的に解析した.その結果,若年労働人口の減少によって,都市システム全体の人口集積が進むこと,及び,それによってシステム全体の学習効果が高まり,知識・技術水準の高度化が期待できることが明らかになった.さらに,ある都市において若年労働者のみを誘致する政策は,その都市をかえって衰退状態に導く可能性があることがわかった.
