Abstract

バングラデシュでは地下水のヒ素汚染が近年顕在化している. 今日様々なヒ素除去プラントが試験的に導入されているが, メンテナンスが煩わしく適切に運転されている例は少ない. 本研究では数多のプラントの中から現地へ適用可能性が高いArsenic and Iron Removal Plant (AIRP) とIron and Arsenic Removal Plant (IARP) を対象装置とし現地のプラントより採取した試料を分析した結果, 幾つかのAIRPでは処理水のヒ素濃度がバングラデシュの水質基準値 (0.05 mg/L) を超過していた. またAIRPとIARPを想定した砂濾過試験を実施した結果, 原水の鉄濃度によっては溶存態ヒ素が処理水に残存すること, また濾層の閉塞状況等によっては水酸化鉄に吸着されたヒ素が濾層に完全に捕捉されないことが示唆された. 加えてIARPに設けられている下向流砂濾過槽はシステムの中から省くことが可能である事が解った.
