Abstract

Der Sammelband Schnittstellen. Die Gegenwart des Abwesenden, herausgegeben von Katharina Hoins, Thomas Kühn und Johannes Müske, thematisiert den Begriff der Schnittstelle, jenseits der Anwendung in technischen Bereichen, als Metapher für Überlappungen, Berührungspunkte oder Grenzziehungen, die unsere Welt- und Realitätswahrnehmung beeinflussen. Zehn Beiträge aus Kulturanthropologie, Kunst-, und Kulturwissenschaften, Geschichts-, Islamwissenschaft, Informatik, Geografie und Volkskunde bieten umfassende Analysen von Schnittstellenformen und ihren Funktionen. Gemeinsam setzten sich die Autor_innen mit dem Verständnis von Wissensproduktion in alltäglichen, technischen und akademischen Bereichen auseinander. Diesem Projekt ist es gelungen, einen Oberbegriff aus unterschiedlichen Zusammenhängen anzuwenden, ohne aus ihm eine inflationäre Metapher zu machen.
