Abstract

Massenmedien bedienen ein disperses und anonymes Publikum, über dessen Zusammensetzung allenfalls statistische Daten vorliegen. Der einzelne Mediennutzer bleibt meist ein unbekanntes Wesen. Wie gehen Medien mit dieser Schwierigkeit um? Wie versuchen sie trotzdem ihre Rezeption und ihre Rezipienten zu beeinflussen und zu formieren? Der vorliegende von Irmela Schneider und Christina Bartz herausgegebene erste Sammelband der dreibändigen Reihe Formationen der Mediennutzung beschäftigt sich aus medienwissenschaftlicher Perspektive mit der Thematisierung und der Formierung von Mediennutzung im Zusammenhang mit Medienereignissen.
