Guide Specification For Small, Dual Agent Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Vehicles

Abstract

This advisory circular (AC) contains performance standards, specifications, and recommendations for the design, construction, and testing of a family of small, dual agent aircraft rescue and fire fighting (ARFF) vehicles. The National Fire Protection Association Standard for Aircraft Rescue And Fire Fighting Vehicles (NFPA 414-1990) forms the basis for this AC. For airport projects receiving Federal grant assistance, the use of these standards is mandatory. At certificated airports, the use of equipment meeting these standards is an acceptable means of satisfying the requirements of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Part 139, Subpart D - Operations, subparagraph 139.317, Aircraft rescue and fire fighting: Equipment and agents. 86p.
