This advisory circular (AC) contains performance standards, specifications, and recommendations for the design, construction, and testing of a family of aircraft rescue and fire fighting (ARFF) vehicles. The guide specifications covers two classes of all-wheel drive, diesel-powered ARFF vehicles having a mechanical water/foam system designed extinguishing flammable and combustible liquid fuel fires. For airport projects receiving Federal grant assistance, the use of these standards is mandatory. At certificated airports, the use of equipment meeting these standards is an acceptable means of satisfying the requirements of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Part 139, Subpart D - Operations, subparagraph 139.317, Aircraft rescue and fire fighting: Equipment and agents. 95p.
