Abstract

El cine tiene una gran importancia en el desarrollo cultural de la sociedad y en la representación y reconocimiento de los imaginarios colectivos que la conforman, así como de sus valores y desafíos. Entre muchos otros temas de gran relevancia, el cine explora en múltiples narrativas la xenofobia, la violencia sexual, las violaciones a los Derechos Humanos e infracciones al Derecho Internacional Humanitario, la guerra, el desarrollo de operaciones militares, la segregación racial, la igualdad, etc. En este sentido, el cine constituye una herramienta pedagógica para que las personas conozcan estas complejas problemáticas, que son de obligatorio análisis y comprensión en la formación jurídico-militar del personal que integra el Ejército Nacional de Colombia. En este contexto, el libro representa el esfuerzo del equipo de la Facultad de Derecho de la Escuela Militar de Cadetes “General José María Córdova” (Esmic) para aportar, desde la academia y el cine, a la comprensión realista del Derecho Operacional, los Derechos Humanos y el Derecho Internacional Humanitario, así como de sus implicaciones en el campo social y político. Con este propósito, se discuten críticamente diecinueve películas para que el lector reflexione sobre las consecuencias jurídicas que pueden tener las decisiones de los personajes en los complejos escenarios sociales, políticos, económicos y étnicos que enfrentan en el cumplimiento de su deber.
