FAMILIA ASPLENIACEAE

Abstract

Familia de cerca de 730 especies. En Asia se encuentra la mayor diversidad (33%), seguido del Neotrópico (30%), África (22%), Oceanía (10%) y Europa (5%). Amplia distribución en todo el mundo, principalmente en zonas templadas y tropicales. Los géneros de esta familia están diversamente circunscritos, algunos autores reconocen solo a Asplenium L. (Kramer & Viane, 1990), mientras que otros reconocen hasta cuatro géneros distintos, por ejemplo, Mickel y Smith (2004) en su trabajo de pteridofitas de México reconocieron a Loxoscaphe Moore, Holodictyum Maxon, Schaffneria Fée y Asplenium. En esta contribución se adopta la clasificación más actualizada con base en trabajos más recientes: Smith et al., (2006), Christenhusz et al. (2011) y el PPG I (2016), los cuales, para la familia, se reconocen a Asplenium e Hymenasplenium Hayata, bajo esta circunscripción, en la región de estudio solo se registra al primero.
