Abstract

La novela Reina de copas está contada por Cecilia, una mujer ceñida a los estereotipos del deber ser y que descubre en los saberes ancestrales un destino diferente al signado por la sociedad, una liberación frente a los roles impuestos. El motivo de la bruja, la partera que aprende a hacer el tránsito entre la muerte y la vida, encuentra su narrativa en las cartas del tarot como un proceso evolutivo arquetípico de la heroína. La novela trata varios temas álgidos dentro de las preocupaciones del mundo actual: el papel de la mujer, su autodeterminación y su configuración dentro de la sociedad. Además, aborda el debate sobre lo femenino y lo masculino desde las perspectivas ancestrales del territorio, particularmente de La Guajira. El universo narrativo construido otorga al mundo simbólico un gran sentido en la narrativa híbrida. Asimismo, se presentan problemáticas complejas que, si bien han sido contadas desde otros lugares, se tratan con otros recursos estilísticos y espirituales del mundo atávico. De ese modo se exponen temas como la prostitución, el narcotráfico y el sistema legal y penitenciario colombiano. La obra habla del perdón como elemento fundamental para el desarrollo espiritual, lo cual se vincula directamente con temáticas tan importantes como la Jurisdicción Especial para la Paz.
