EDUCAÇAO E NOVOS SABERES: A NECESSIDADE DE UMA NOVA VISÃO SOBRE A ÁFRICA E OS AFRICANOS

Abstract

Nos últimos anos, toda a comunidade acadêmica e a sociedade brasileira tem se deparado com a exigência estabelecida pelo Governo Federal, através da Lei 10.63912003, de se trabalhar com o ensino da cultura afro-brasileira e africana em diferentes níveis educacionais. Tal determinação torna-se muito válida na busca de um ensino mais humanista e humanitário, que compreenda as diversidades e valorize a questão da multiculturalidade. Por outro lado, deparamo nos com sérias barreiras estabelecidas por uma visão essencialmente eurocêntrica a respeito dos africanos, visão esta que contaminou excessivamente os materiais didáticos e mesmo pesquisas acadêmicas concernentes aos africanos. Diante desta situação, o presente artigo objetiva relacionar as possibilidades de se estudar, entender e também de se fazer uma história da África de forma menos enviesada e que tenha os africanos como atores, e não apenas como expectadores ou vitimas do processo colonizador europeu. Tal proposta se torna pertinente. uma vez destacada a atualidade e a importância do assunto em nosso cotidiano e sua necessidade cada vez maior nos currículos acadêmicos e escolares.
