At the present time, we are struggling with the triple crises which are social, economic and environmental. Poverty remains as a severe problem around the world and also the planet and the living on it have got into danger because of environmental degradation. In the meantime, economic system is centralized as a main focus of politics due to serious depressions and even collapses because of the global crises. By the reason of these triple crises; sustainability notion is gained importance in policy makers’ agendas even though it was showed up just 25 years ago. Poverty, which is human history’s unsolved and much more visible problem in comparison with the past, got center of sustainability discussions and documentary with its multidimensional nature. In this study, it’s aimed to reinterpret poverty, diferentiated by institution and researcher, with sustainability perspective. In this study, poverty’s interaction mechanism is constructed by international documents related to sustainability and poverty and this mechanism is termed the poverty knot. hereby investigating poverty’s interaction mechanism and poverty knot, poverty alleviation strategies’ discussed.
