JÓVENES EN LA INTERCULTURALIDAD: LOS CASOS DE UNIVERSIDADES INTERCULTURALES DE CHIAPAS E HIDALGO

Abstract

A partir del Primer Encuentro Virtual, entre las actualmente doce Universidades Interculturales presentes en el mismo número de estados de México, fue posible emitir una convocatoria dirigida a jóvenes estudiantes y egresados de ellas (agosto 5 a septiembre 10, 2021), con el objetivo de compartir experiencias sobre la educación integral y trabajo comunitario en la Universidad Intercultural de Chiapas (UNICH) y Universidad Intercultural del Estado de Hidalgo (UIEH), principalmente. La investigación cualitativa, en el área de la educación superior, posibilitó aplicar el instrumento (formulario en línea) que fue respondido de manera anónima por una muestra de alrededor de 550 jóvenes, de 19 lenguas originarias diferentes y constó de 25 reactivos (18 cerrados y 7 abiertos). El 70% de quienes respondieron tienen 18 a 21 años de edad y el 25 % son jóvenes y adultos jóvenes de 22 a 29 años. De entre los principales hallazgos y conclusiones destaca una mayor participación de mujeres: en mayor porcentaje (~45%) eligen a estas universidades por las licenciaturas que ofrecen. Tres de cada diez jóvenes, mencionó una posible deserción por problemas económicos y, finalmente, la vinculación comunitaria la consideran actividad esencial a la que debe darse mayor apoyo en todos los sentidos.
