Karakterna edukacija i kultura

Abstract

U članku se nastoji pojasniti međusobna povezanost karakterne edukacije i kulture te utjecaj jedne na drugu. Polazeći od određenja karakterne edukacije utemeljitelja moderne teorije o karakternoj edukaciji Thomasa Lickone, istražuje se mjesto i koncept karakterne edukacije u suvremenom obrazovanju s naglaskom na komplementarnost etičke i karakterne edukacije te na holistički i integrirani pristup kojim se promiču moralne vrijednosti, etika i socijalne kompetencije kao sastavnice kulturnih vrijednosti. Kulturno osjetljiva nastava sama je sebi otvorila prostor s ciljem da ukaže na nužnost pripremanja učenika i studenata za život u globaliziranom svijetu te da pojasni svoju ulogu u povezivanju karakterne edukacije i kulture. U cilju poticanja rasprave o međusobnom odnosu etičke, karakterne i kulturno osjetljive edukacije, u završnom dijelu članka predlažu se ključni ishodi sva tri obrazovna pristupa za osnovne i srednje škole te za fakultete.
