Abstract

ABSTRAK Tanaman lidah buaya merupakan salah satu tanaman hortikultura yang menghasilkan daun, banyak dijumpai di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta khususnya kabupaten Bantul. Tanaman ini mempunyai kandungan nutrisi gizi yang tinggi dan lengkap, sehingga sangat bermanfaat sabagai bahan pangan kesehatan, industri farmasi, kosmetik dan bahan obat herbal. Dusun Kuwaru dan Cangkring merupakan daerah pasir pantai yang merupakan daerah wisata pantai sehingga banyak dikunjungi wisata baik domestik maupun manca negara. Tanaman lidah buaya di kedua dusun belum dimanfaatkan secara intensif sebagai produk olahan, masih terbatas sebagai tanaman hias dan obat penyubur rambut. Peningkatkan pemanfaatan tanaman dapat untuk meningkatkan pendapatan dan kesejahteraan petani nelayan maka pengolahan berbagai produk olahan daun lidah buaya perlu dilakukan. Daun lidah buaya dapat diolah menjadi berbagai produk pangan kesehatan antara lain nata de aloe, jelli, krupuk, sirup, dan limbah kulit sebagai teh. Produk olahan ini masing-masing diproses secara higienis dan dikemas dengan dalam tempat (wadah) yang bersih dan aman, sehingga dapat menarik para wisatawan.Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat IbM yang dilaksanakan kepada mitra kelompok tani nelayan ini berlangsung selama sepuluh bulan. Kegiatan ini dimulai dari sosialisasi budidaya tanaman secara intensif, pengolahan dan pengemasan produk olahan serta managemen produksi dan pemasaran produk olahan yang dilaksanakan selama 7,5 bulan. Selanjutnya masih ada waktu 2,5 bulan digunakan sebagai kegiatan pendampingan keberlanjutan dari produksi sampai pemasaran. Dengan berakhirnya kegiatan pengabdian maka kelompok tani nelayan dapat melanjutkan produksi olahan daun lidah buaya, sehingga tujuan kegiatan untuk peningkatan pendapatan dan kesejahteraan petani nelayan dapat tercapai. ABSTRACT Aloe vera L. plant as one of the leaf producing plants are found a lot in Yogyakarta Special Territory, especially in Bantul Regency. This plant has high and complete nutrient content, which is very valuable for healthy food, pharmacy industries, cosmetics, and herbal medicines. Kuwaru and Cangkringan villages are coastal tourism areas, which have been visited by either domestic or foreign tourists. Aloe vera L. plant in those villages has not been intensively used for food products, just for ornamental plants and hair treatment. Increasing the usage of this plants could increase the income and well-being for women groups of farmers and fishermen, so it is necessary to make variable food products of Aloe vera L. leaves. The leaves can be processed into healthy food such as nata de aloe, jelly, crackers, syrup, even the outer part of the leaf could be dried for tea. This product were hygienicly processed, packed in clean and safe package, which will attract the tourists. The action of Technology Implementation for Society was conducted during ten months. The first 7.5 months was used for socialization of the program, such as intensively growing the plants, processing and packaging food product, managing production and marketing the product. The rest of 2.5 months was assisting the extension of production and marketing. The women groups of farmers and fishermen are expected to continue the food production of Aloe vera L. leaf after this program, so that the increasing income and well-being of the groups can be realized.
