Abstract

Sur la pensee d'Etienne Souriau. Selon E. Souriau (1892-1979), la nature du questionnement philosophique interdit toute " option " pour ou contre " Dieu " (L'ombre de Dieu, 1955). L'instauration de l'homme par lui-meme comporte bien une orientation vers le sublime, dont l'origine est un " ultra-naturel " | mais l'existence de ce dernier doit demeurer purement virtuelle. Selon Weischedel (Der Gott der Philosophen, 1971), le meme questionnement se renie des qu'il accepte de trouver en " Dieu " la reponse qui le mene a son terme | mais il se pervertit egalement s'il pretend n'etre pas constitue par un " Vonwoher? ", dont l'homme n'est pas l'origine. Pour Souriau, " l'ombre de Dieu " se profile, tutelaire et illusoire, en chacune des oeuvres qui marque la recherche infinie de notre existence sublime. Pour Weischedel, seule la pensee du " retrait de l'etre " (Heidegger) depasse le nihilisme moderne | en reconnaissant le " Vonwoher? ", elle maintient la dynamique de ce sens qu'avaient cherche, mais en se fourvoyant, les anciennes theodicees
