Abstract

Academic libraries are taking on additional roles as a part of the Open Access transformation. They are becoming central hubs for academic infrastructure, consulting, services, and initiatives. Participation and communication strategies are important tools for them to succeed in their various roles. The article shows approaches for developing and implementing such strategies, accompanied by concrete examples from the research project AuROA. The article calls for communication knowledge and participation experience to be recognized as research data as well as to be made reusable for further projects, initiatives and the institution as a whole.
