Abstract

BIOGEOGHAPHIA — vol. XIV — 1988 {Pubblicato // 31 dicembre 1990) The Biogeography of Somalia Osservazioni sulla distribuzione dei Brentidae (lnsecta, Coleoptera) in Somalia LUCA BARTOLOZZP‘, GIUSEPPE OSELLA“ q“ Mzzseo Zoologico «Lzz Specola», Sezioize del Museo dzq Storzkz Natzmzle deZZ’Um'ver5z'tc2, Fireizze qq”‘ Dz'[mrz‘z'mem‘0 dz‘ Scielzze AI7zZ2z'em‘zzZz' deZl’U7zz'z2er5z'tzi, L’/lqztilzz SUMMARY Notes on the distribution of the Sornalian Brentidae (Insecta, Coleoptera) A check-list of the 17 Somalian species of Brentidae is given with the detailed distribution for each species. The genus Gylzmzdrar/Jyuc/J11: Lacordaire, 1866 (probably with a n. sp.) and two species — NEOC€0- cepbtllm op/Jtalmm/5 Calabresi, 1920 and Oifilzzia tzzrztatzrir (Kolbe, 1897) — are recorded for the first time from Somalia. The Brentid fauna of Somalia mainly Contains typical East African elements, and a few others largely distributed in the afro-tropical region, and is quite poor compared to the West African fauna.
