From a composite poverty indicator, the analysis of the level and evolution of multidimensional poverty in Togo between 1988 and 1998 emphasized a downward trend with the both relative and absolute thresholds considered. Over the two studied periods, non-monetary poverty appears very strongly accentuated near the rural households and appears being of enormous dimension in the Savannas region. Considering the living standard composite indicator's distribution, it appears that poverty is unequally distributed on the whole of the country with a stronger intensity in the rural zones and the Savannas region.
