Waste can be a burden and can also be a resource, relative to the lens of view or position of view. Waste, when improperly disposed and not effectively utilized is viewed as a burden and contaminates the soil, water bodies, and harms the ecosystem. It leads to flooding by blocking drainage and water ways. When it undergoes decomposition in the landfills, it releases methane, a potential greenhouse gas. Accumulated waste attracts flies, rodents, and mosquitoes, increasing risk of malaria, cholera and other infections.
