This note describes the development of a theory of point kinetics with delayed neutrons andprompt neutrons as separated populations. The separated point kinetics are demonstrated to beconsistent with the original point kinetics, and suggest that the delayed neutron fraction mayevolve away from 𝛽 during reactivity changes. However, the separated point kinetics was alsoobserved to potential artifacts, possibly due to the use of reactivity as a composite parameter.
