Marketing practices containing either misleading information or biased methods generate multiple issues that disrupt competition and mislead customers and devalue economic performance. Each year millions of Indian consumers fall victim to false business practices such as deceitful claims and deceptive product benefits along with hidden terms and sold products which turn out to be counterfeits. The 2024 research demonstrated that fake products dominate Indian markets to the extent of 25-30% indicating a major challenge for consumer rights protection.
