ABSTRACT This article examines problems in proving antitrust damages in monopsony cases. In most monopsony cases, wages, or other input prices, are depressed below the competitive level. Damage calculations, therefore, require an estimate of the unlawful underpayment. The problems of proof are examined with the aid of economic theory. The econometric challenges in coping with problems of proof are explored.
