The article addresses the controversy over the war in Ukraine that currently divides the West. The article argues that this division is the greatest threat to both the West and the world. A fragmentation of the West will undermine the source of its strength—its capacity to create new and increasingly more powerful levels of organization. This capacity is essential for the West to bring the war in Ukraine to a conclusion and to continue leading the world. The purpose of the article is to help in choosing the most optimal course for the resolution of the conundrum that poses the greatest threat to the world since the Second World War.
