English Abstract: The world currently looks to be sliding towards a new Cold War, fuelled by a relapse into patterns of thought and action that many hoped we had overcome: national egoism, racist separation, religious fanatism. The multiple crisis that is currently gripping not only Europe can arguably only be addressed with a new perspective, a new framework of thought, which not only looks beyond national boundaries but which furthermore considers global as well as local problems from a new angle. ‘Culture of peace’ is the most general formulation of this new perspective, ‘global citizenship’ is the political concept for it, and ‘convivialism’ is its manifestation in civil society. This paper explains the concept of ‘global citizenship’ in detail in this context.
