Spanish Abstract: El presente trabajo abordara, sucintamente, los origenes del patriotismo constitucional y su construccion teorica practica hasta la actualidad. A continuacion, se examina las critica u objeciones contra el patriotismo constitucional, para luego defender una concepcion o postura del patriotismo constitucional particular. Una vez agotado esto, veremos si el patriotismo constitucional puede o no puede ser una alternativa al nacionalismo o patriotismo romantico. Finalmente, se recapitula sobre las conclusiones principales de la presente investigacion y ciertas cuestiones aun abiertas que – en particular en el caso de la Republica Dominicana – faltan por abundar y responder. English Abstract: The present paper reflects on the origins of constitutional patriotism and its practical and theoretical construction until today. Afterwards, the paper will summarize and reflect on the major objections against constitutional patriotism, then, to defend a particular and normative conception of constitutional patriotism. Once this exercise is exhausted, the paper will review nationalism as an alternative to constitutional patriotism and why it fails to fulfill such aim.. Finally, the paper will round up all the major conclusions and ideas set fourth in this essay, pointing to open issues pending to analyze and address, particularly in the context of Dominican Republic.
