Abstract

English Abstract: The overall objective of this study is, on the one hand, to identify and analyze the factors that contribute to the state of child poverty and, on the other hand, to identify the existence of inequalities in child welfare and to analyze their sources in four UEMOA countries: Cote d'Ivoire, Guinea Bissau, Niger and Togo. Using the multidimensional approach to poverty, the results show that the factors that explain child poverty in the countries studied are: access to vitamin A, the quality of iodized salt consumed, breastfeeding, vaccination against poliomyelitis, diphtheria, measles and yellow fever, the occurrence of diseases such as diarrhea, cough, fever and breathing difficulties. It also appears that the incidence of multidimensional child poverty is 19.4% in Togo, 21.1% in Cote d'Ivoire, 29.0% in Guinea-Bissau and 49.7% in Niger.
