Abstract

This paper attempts to understand the immediate impact of rubber plantations on the environment, mainly on air and water, on the basis of a pilot survey undertaken in two sub-divisions of Tripura, Belonia and Udaipur. Rubber plantations add to the green cover and no conclusive evidence of negative impact was visible.
