Governance is not a new concept; however, it can mean different things to different people and there can often be disparity between the levels of understanding associated with corporate and project governance. Corporate governance involves a set of relationships between a company’s management, its board, its shareholders and other stakeholders (OECD, 2009). Project Governance is the alignment of project objectives with the strategy of the larger organisation by the project sponsor and the project team (PMI, 2013 p.553).Accountability and Key Performance Measures are key to ensuring Governance Stakeholders remain engaged throughout the Project Lifecycle.
