This paper focuses on the various types and forms of Chothe ceremonial rites and rituals. It attempts a classification broadly divided into three types of all religious ceremonial rites and rituals of a cultural group inclusive of the rites of passage on the criteria of its nature, beliefs, observances, taboo, norms, application and values viz.; (1) Personal Ritual, (2) Family Ritual and (3) Village or Community Ritual. It emphases the relevancy how certain indigenous or tribal religious ceremonial rites and rituals can be identified on the above basis and be described. The paradigm of this classification is elucidated in the context.
