Rotterdam and Hague-Visby Rules -- A Comparative Analysis

Abstract

The focal point of this research paper is to make an extensive research on the "Comparative Analysis of the Rotterdam Rules and the Hague-Visby Rules". In the era of technological and commercial developments there is sheer need for the change in maritime laws also. Keeping in mind the foregoing contention, the Rotterdam Rules superseded the previous rules namely, Hague, Hague-Visby and Hamburg Rules. The paper is going to examine and analyze the provisions and significant changes made to the earlier carriage of goods by sea regime and incorporated in the Rotterdam Rules.In the later part, the paper delves deep into making a comparative analysis of Rotterdam and Hague-Visby Rules. Towards the end, this paper tries to answer to the query raised in a hypothesis as its concluding remarks.
