Situaciin De Los Idiomas Originarios De MMxico En El Bicentenario: Disminuciin Temporal O En Ruta De Extinciin. Un Annlisis Estaddstico (Status Languages Native in Mexico in the Bicentennial: Temporary Decline or Extinction Path. A Statistical Analysis)

Abstract

Statistical analysis of the percentage of speaking, three languages originating in Mexico: the Nahuatl and Maya Purhepecha. Lacking sufficient historical data by language speakers in the country, it makes an estimate of the percentage of speakers of the three languages over time, by simple linear regression using the data collected by INEGI. According to this analysis, we find that the two languages spoken in the country (Nahuatl and Maya) are in marked decline and imminent. Whereas Purhepecha is in a situation of less decline.
