Introduction: DNR is considered one of ethical dilemma in modern society that resulted from medical development, ethical dilemmas occur in the field of health care when health care providers in a situation to choose between two or more unfavorable alternative. Purpose: After deep review of literature, the author will present the arguments and counter argument regarding DNR, and then give a clear conclusion about DNR focusing on cancer patients, and this paper will answer this question “what is the scope of DNR application” according to case study that will be presented in this paper.Method: Search different internet data bases including: using “pubmed” “science direct” “highwire” and “scientific Google” database.Sample: 24 articles published from 2006 to 2012 were selected and formed the basis for this review. Mainly articles be published in nursing journals. Result: In this paper the author will present the different opinion about DRN, the argument and counter argument, with focusing on ethical principle in order to protect human rights, and right to life or die for the patient without exploitation. Moreover the principle of autonomy, respect, integrity and human dignity should be considered in defending the authors’ claim of agreeing DNR orders and patients wills.Conclusion: his paper represents the author clear opinion which is with DNR just in such disabling disease with no chance to be cured, since it is not accepted to prolong the life for the patient and increase the suffering for the patient and family without any hope to solve the primary disease. Recommendations: DNR is the patient must be chosen and relatives to respect this decision and its implementation. If I am terminally ill and without a chance for living, I would choose DNR, and I think it could be better for me and my family and the community and I.
