Abstract

Neste estudo, verificamos a exist?ncia de previsibilidade no mercado de a??es brasileiro. Diferente de diversos estudos no mesmo sentido, que avaliam as s?ries originais de cada a??o, avaliamos s?ries sint?ticas criadas a partir de modelos lineares de a??es. De acordo com Burgess (1999), utilizamos a metodologia de "stepwise regression" (regress?o passo-a-passo) para a forma??o dos modelos de cada a??o. Ent?o utilizamos o perfil de raz?o de vari?ncia em conjunto com uma simula??o de Monte Carlo para a sele??o dos modelos com potencial de previsibilidade. Diferentemente de Burgess (1999), realizamos um Reality Check de White (2000) para verificar a exist?ncia de retornos positivos no per?odo fora da amostra. Utilizamos as estrat?gias propostas por Sullivan, Timmermann e White (1999) e Hsu e Kuan (2005) totalizando 26410 estrat?gias simuladas. Finalmente, utilizando a metodologia de bootstrap, com 1000 simula??es, encontramos fortes evid?ncias de previsibilidade nos modelos, incluindo custos de transa??
