The paper present contributions in competitiveness touristic destination studies, with example concerning Romanian religious tourism. The structure included an overview of dimensions of the sustainable development and after that a methodological approaches of the competitiveness following by the exploring study about the competitive advantage. The second part is related by tourism policy: competitiveness and implications of porter's model in that study. After a SWOT analyses for Romanian as a touristic destinations we concluded by an example related with religious Romanian tourism.
