Abstract

Die digitale Welt gehört längst zum Alltag von Schülerinnen und Schülern, aber welche Rolle spielt sie in den Schulen? Dieser Frage geht die Bildungsstudie Digitale Medien in der Schule auf den Grund. Befragt wurden 305 Lehrerinnen und Lehrer für Mathematik und Naturwissenschaften in Deutschland.Die zentralen Ergebnisse sind ernüchternd: Zwar verfügen 89,5 Prozent der Schulen über Computer, allerdings steht nur in 7,5 Prozent der Fälle jeder Schülerin und jedem Schüler ein Computer zur Verfügung. Eine Umfrage im Auftrag des Verbands BITKOM unter 500 Schülerinnen und Schülern ergab, dass der PC im Schulunterricht bei 43 Prozent aller Schülerinnen und Schüler entweder gar nicht oder seltener als einmal pro Woche zum Einsatz kommt. Nur 15 Prozent der Schülerinnen und Schüler nutzen ihn täglich in der Schule, 41 Prozent immerhin mindestens einmal pro Woche. Die befragten Lehrerinnen und Lehrer sehen zwar zu 80 Prozent einen positiven Nutzen in der Verwendung von Internet und Computer im Unterricht, es fehlt ihnen aber, nach eigener Einschätzung, an fachlicher Kompetenz. So fühlen sich über 70 Prozent der interviewten Lehrkräfte bei technischen Fragen auf sich allein gestellt. „Entsprechend ist es die Aufgabe aller Verantwortlichen, die Schulen nicht nur finanziell, sondern auch konzeptionell stärker zu unterstützen“, resümiert Stephan Griebel von Texas Instruments Deutschland und Vorstandsmitglied bei D21. Die Vorteile des Internets weiß die Mehrheit der befragten Lehrkräfte durchaus zu schätzen. Für ihre Unterrichtsvorbereitung nutzt mittlerweile mehr als die Hälfte das Internet.
