Abstract A mathematical model of hydrodynamic processes i intermittent gaslift is described. The many facets of fluid flow accrue from continuous changes of the hydrodynamic and thermodynamic conditions, the mathematical solution of unsteady fluid flow was simplified by introduction of certain assumptions and boundary conditions. These synthetic, analytical solutions were used to develop the "POVLIFT" program for designing and optimizing intermittent gaslift.
