Flexibilidad cognitiva y Control inhibitorio en Pacientes con Cardiopatía Isquémica

Abstract

Marco teórico: Las enfermedades cardiovasculares presentan un desafío importante en la atención sanitaria. En la actualidad la línea de investigación es la relación que existe entre enfermedad cardiovascular, los factores de riesgo y los déficits cognitivos; considerando que la cardiopatía isquémica afecta tanto al corazón como al cerebro. El propósito de éste estudio fue evaluar el control inhibitorio y flexibilidad cognitiva en pacientes con cardiopatía isquémica. Método: Durante mayo-diciembre de 2014 se evaluaron 82 pacientes de ambos sexos y 59,23 (DE = 14,05) años de edad, utilizando el Test de clasificación de tarjetas Wisconsin y el Stroop test de colores y palabras. Resultados: Los pacientes manifestaron alteraciones en todas las funciones ejecutivas valoradas, siendo la franja etaria media (50-59 años) la que mostró rendimientos más bajos. Conclusiones: Se destaca la importancia de ampliar la investigación de las funciones ejecutivas en pacientes con cardiopatía isquémica o con factores de riesgo en edades medias de la vida.
