Concrete Quality Control Using the Seven Tools Method and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

Abstract

This research is engaged in the concrete industry which produces various kinds of concrete products. Based on data from August 2022 to January 2023 concrete with type G5. SP. 100. 100. 120. 10 MF has a disability of 20%. This study aims to help companies obtain information about the causes of defects. The method used in this study is the Seven Tools method and the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) method. The results obtained from this study showed that the most defects were 681 porous defects, 312 chipped defects, 196 cracked defects, 132 bug hole defects, 93 shrinkage defects, 85 lumpy defects, and 72 other defects. The root of the problem that causes defects to occur is caused by human factors, materials, machines, methods, environment and measurements and recommendations for corrective actions are carried out in order to minimize the occurrence of defects.
