Absorption of (Fe) content in Lapindo mud by shallot plants (Allium ascalonicum L)

Abstract

Lapindo Mud is one of the unique natural phenomena that occur in Indonesia. This phenomenon is in the form of hot mudflows that appear in Sidoarjo Regency, East Java. Since it happened for the first time on May 29, 2006, the Sidoarjo mudflow is still ongoing. The Lapindo spray contains a lot of metal content, one of which is the Fe/iron metal component = metal which contaminates the soil in high quantities and can affect the surrounding plant ecosystem. In order to be able to utilize Lapindo mud, it is necessary to carry out phytoremediation of the land using shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.), judging from the synthesis of shallots, 80% is water, making it suitable for use as a phytoremediation plant. In this research conducted at home starting from January 2023 to early March 2023, the observation variables consisted of leaf length, wet weight, dry weight,
